The Art Museum is located in one of the most representative buildings in Timisoara - The Baroc Palace. Built during 1752-1754, the palace is renowned for is rich decorations with a strong austrian school influence, it's resemblance with the Kinsky Palace in Vienna being well known.

Recas Winery
The first records of viticulture in the Banat region date back from the period of the Roman invasion of Dacia, in their century AD. Recent historical findings show that the Vineyards of Recas were already renowned by 1447 when the romanian lord Severin Mihail de Ciorna purchased these lands from Ioan and Ecaterina Magyar, for as much as 32 Hungarian gold florins.
From that day until present times, the blessing of the legendary gods of wine has continued to protect the destiny of the Vineyards in Recas.

Cultural sites in Timisoara
Timisoara is located in a swampy plain where, over centuries two rivers - Timis and Bega - periodically flooded the territory. The intricate network of subsidiary streams and swamps led to the fact that the city, built on both sides of the river Bega took its name from the river Timis.
Like very many other medieval towns of Europe, Timisoara was born under the protection of a fortress and around it. That is why, the center and the oldest part of the town bears the suggestive name of "Cetate" (Citadel). This was the nucleus from which it developed into an urban settlement, in the course of centuries, the evolution of its town planning, being a real book of history. Timişoara was first mentioned as a place in either 1212 or 1266. The territory later to be known as Banat was conquered and annexed by the Kingdom of Hungary in 1030. It is one of the largest Romanian cities, with an estimated population of over 313.000 inhabitants (the third most inhabited city in Romania) and is the main economic and cultural center in Banat.
